About Me

Autism-Affirming Therapy for Adults & Adolescents

I’m Robert Rackley, a neurodivergent therapist specialising in mental health. As someone with combined-type ADHD, I understand the challenges of navigating a world that often misunderstands neurodivergent minds. That’s why my therapy approach is fully Autism-affirming, providing a space where Autistic adults and adolescents can feel understood, supported, and empowered.

A Different Kind of Therapy

Many Autistic individuals come to therapy after negative experiences—being told to mask, to “fit in,” or to suppress their natural ways of thinking and interacting. My approach is different. I don’t believe in forcing neurotypical behaviors. Instead, I focus on:

  • Unmasking safely and embracing self-identity.
  • Burnout recovery and managing sensory overload.
  • Emotional regulation strategies that actually work for Autistic minds.
  • Addressing anxiety, depression, and self-doubt without forcing conformity.

You don’t need to change who you are to be accepted. Therapy should be about understanding yourself, not fixing yourself.

Qualifications & Experience

I hold a Master’s degree in Neurodivergence & Autism and specialise in working with Autistic and ADHD individuals. My experience includes:

  • Providing therapy for Autistic adults and adolescents in private practice.
  • Working with Autism Supporting Diversity Ireland, supporting neurodivergent mental health.
  • Training mental health professionals through my CPD-accredited courses on neurodivergence in therapy.
  • Speaking at conferences and media events, advocating for Autism acceptance and better mental health support.

I am fully accredited with The Irish Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (IACP), and my practice is officially recognized as Autism Friendly by ASIAM.

A Space Designed for You

I know that traditional therapy environments can be overwhelming for Autistic individuals. That’s why my therapy space is:

  • Sensory-friendly, with adjustable lighting and sound.
  • Wheelchair accessible and service dog-friendly.
  • Available for online sessions for those who prefer remote therapy.

Therapy should be a place where you can be yourself without judgment. Whether you’re looking for support with burnout, identity, or emotional well-being, I’m here to help.

Testimonial

“ When my son, aged 17, first came to Robert, he was in crisis. Over the months since, Robert has given him the tools to improve his mental health and the safe space to talk about his worries and struggles. The therapy room, being a sensory room, is ideal for autistic people, like my son, who is always so relaxed after sessions. We, as a family, can’t thank Robert enough for the help and support he’s given”
